Creating in one of the oldest wine regions is both an honor and a responsibility. It is an honor because our winery is considered new in the region, yet we are warmly welcomed by the locals, known for their strong local patriotism. It is a responsibility because we introduce our innovative ideas in winemaking—driven by internal motivation—while respecting local traditions. We see many opportunities in our Sopron areas. We have well-suited vineyards from which our head winemaker, Sándor Mérész, and his team bring out the best every year.

In the Sopron wine region, the cool air from the Alps results in low humidity, and the Fertő Lake has a unique, exciting climatic effect, warming in winter and cooling in summer. The soil conditions are quite exceptional, with the mica schist bedrock imparting a distinctive minerality to the wine. Our Sopron vineyard complex appears homogeneous at first glance, but even within individual vineyards there is significant variation in water retention; where a substantial clay lens is present, everything changes completely.
